The New Study of Capitalism (2002-2003)

Coordinators: Richard Swedberg and Victor Nee

Although the modern incarnation of economic sociology dates back to the mid-1980s, little recent work has been done on capitalism itself. Taking inspiration from the legacy of thinkers such as Marx, Weber, Schumpeter, and Hayek, this working group focuses on the continued evolution of capitalism as a marcrosocial phenomenon.
